Southern Islands

The Great Southern region of Western Australia has some of the most photogenic coastlines in the country. Islands set amongst the clearest waters dot the whole south coast from Albany to Esperance.

White Sandy Beaches

I was keen to head down to the beach after watching the sky fill with high cirrus cloud all day, and capture the bright pinks that would bounce off them as the sun was setting. But, as per usual the high cloud headed east and away from the coast about an hour before sunset. Not deterred, I was still in the mood to head down and capture a new location. I jumped in the car and headed north. I was beyond excitement when I arrived and walked down, the beach opened up to what seemed to be an endless white sand that followed the water all the way to the horizon to the south (as you can see in the photo). We are very lucky in Western Australia as we have (I may be slightly bias) the best beaches in the world.
